Parliament reitrates determination to preserve Syria’s independence and unity

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Marking the 74th anniversary of Syria’s  Independence Day [Evacuation Day], the People’s Assembly [Parliament] released a statement asserting the leadership’s determination to preserve Syria’s independence and sovereignty . 
 
The statement focused on the Syrian army’s legendary confrontation  of the ongoing war and sanctions being imposed on the country. 
 
“On the ocassion of Independence Day, in which Syria gained independence from French occupation, the Syrian people reiterate through their national unity and sacrifices that they will go ahead with combatting terrorism and all conspiracies that target Syria’s independence and unity,” the statement added. 
 
It stressed that Syria people’s resistance against occupation is an an exmaple to be followed.
