Panama’s maritime authorities accept Syrian maritime certificates within its recognized list

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday that the maritime authorities in Panama have included the Syrian maritime certificates “Competency and Capacity” within the list that Panama recognizes.

The Ministry made it clear that Panama’s recognition of these certificates allows Syrian sailors to work on board the ships hoisting panama’s flag, which is the world’s most ship-borne flag and under which the largest number of sailors work.

The ministry pointed out that main factor of this success is the development of the Syrian maritime training and qualification systems, particularly after the opening of the Syrian Naval Academy in September 2018.
