Dozens of Palestinians on Thursday took part in a rally in the West Bank city of Jenin to voice solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails and to call on the international community to work intensively to release these prisoners.
WAFA News Agency said that participants in the rally, which was organized by the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Commission and the Syrian Prisoners Club in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Jenin, raised the Palestinian flag and pictures of the sick prisoners whose health condition is getting worse as a result of medical negligence by the Israeli occupation authorities.
The participants called on the international lawful and humanitarian institutions as well as the Red Cross to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities so as to stop their crimes against the captives and to release the sick and hunger striking prisoners.
Some 5300 Palestinian prisoners are still under hard detention conditions in the Israeli jails. 550 of these prisoners are sick and they need urgent surgeries.
