Dozens of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip took part in a solidarity stand organized on Saturday to express support for the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation jails.
Maan News Agency reported that the stand was organized by the Palestinian national forces in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The participants carried the pictures of the hunger striking prisoners, urging the international community to save their lives through pressuring the occupation to release them.
Despite danger on their lives, 7 Palestinian prisoners continue with their open-ended hunger strike in protest against their unfair detention and against the Israeli occupation’s aggressive practices towards the Palestinians.
The hunger striking prisoners are Kayed Al-Fasfous, who has been on hunger strike for 115 days, Miqdad Al-Qawasmeh, 108 days, Alaa Al-Araj, 91 days, Hisham Abu Hawwash, 81 days, Eyad Al-Hreimi, 45 days, Rateb Hreibat, 29 days and Loui Al-Ashqar, 27.
The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Commission warned in a statement on Saturday that these prisoners are in a critical health condition, particularly Al-Fasfous and Al-Qawasmeh, who may die at any moment.
Some 5000 Palestinian prisoners are held in Israeli jails within very harsh conditions. 600 of these prisoners are ill and they need urgent medical treatment.
