OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (ST)_Many Palestinians gathered on Thursday in Jenin city in the West Bank to express their solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners, who are subjected to violations in the Israeli jails.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the Palestinians called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and humanitarian organizations to put pressures on the Israeli occupation authorities to immediately release the sick and aging prisoners and women and children.
There are approximately 5,000 Palestinian political prisoners being held in Israeli jails, according to prisoners’ rights group Addameer.
More than 700 male and female prisoners in Israeli jails are in need of serious healthcare – 17 of whom are in critical condition in the Ramla Prison hospital, which lacks adequate standards of medical care.
