Palestinian State Institutions: Ben Gvir’s incursion into Al-Aqsa reflects disregard for the entire world
Palestinian official institutions condemned the storming of the Minister of the Israeli Occupation Government, Itamar Ben Gvir, with a group of settlers, into Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the occupation forces.
In a statement quoted by WAFA, Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh confirmed that Ben Gvir’s storming of Al-Aqsa Square, the second time, is a blatant attack on the mosque and will have serious repercussions, stressing that the Palestinian people will confront all ongoing attempts by the occupying government to change the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abu Rudeineh warned that such action is very dangerous and called on the international community, specifically the US administration, to act immediately, because attacking the mosque would lead the region to a war that would not be blocked.
In turn, the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs considered Ben Gvir’s storming of Al-Aqsa a heinous crime and an assault on sanctities and places of worship.
The ministry called on international institutions to act urgently to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is under fierce Israeli attack, urging the Palestinians to defend it and to counter the occupation’s attempts to uproot them from their city.
The President of the National Assembly, Rawhi Fattouh, affirmed that Ben Gvir’s aggressive behavior would not alter the identity of Jerusalem with its civilization, culture, mosques, churches and alleys, which attest to its deep Arab-Islamic history, stating that Palestinians know how to defend their sacred and national and historical heritage. Meanwhile, the Chief Justice of Palestine, Mahmoud al-Habbash, considered that the occupation’s continuous incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the resolutions of the international community.
The People’s Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), affirmed that the incursion of Ben Gvir and settlers into Al-Aqsa is obvious aggression and an attempt to impose new realities and control over the Holy City, emphasizing that the plans of occupation ministers to break into the courtyards of the mosque are destined to fail thanks to the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
