The Palestinian resistance parties condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted points in and around Damascus, including residential neighbourhoods, killing five people and injuring 15 others, and causing destruction to homes and infrastructure.
Palestinian media quoted the Islamic Jihad movement as saying in a statement today: “We strongly condemn the Zionist terrorist aggression that targeted Damascus and claimed a number of civilian martyrs. This proves Zionists’ great hatred and continuous endeavor to target Syria. The movement expresses its support to Syria in confronting the conspiracies led by the Zionist entity and deepening the strategy of the Syrian people.
In turn, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the Israeli aggression, indicating that it comes at a time when Syria has not yet recovered from the effects of the devastating earthquake that struck it and left thousands of victims. This aggression reaffirms the aggressiveness of this racist entity.
The Front offered its sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Syrian people, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded, stressing its solidarity and full support for the Syrian people and their army in the continuous efforts to cleanse Syria of the remnants of terrorism supported by the Zionist entity.
Hamas also strongly condemned the Zionist aggression against Syria, noting that the Israeli occupation, with its presence on the land of Palestine, poses a danger to the nation, security and peace throughout the region. It is an absolute evil that can only be deterred by force and resistance until its demise from our land and sanctities. It expressed condolences to the Syrian people and the families of the martyrs, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
The official of the media office of the resistance committees in Palestine, Muhammad al-Buraim, stated that in light of the great catastrophe that befell Syria due to the devastating earthquake, the Zionist enemy is bombing Damascus to reveal once again its criminal face, calling for solidarity of all Arab and Islamic people and their resistance forces to confront the enemy’s terrorism, and to deter its continuous and escalating crimes.
