Palestinian Red Crescent Society calls on international community to provide protection to its headquarters
Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestine Red Crescent Society called on the international community to intervene immediately to protect Al-Amal Hospital and the Society’s headquarters in the city of Khan Yunis, south of Gaza Strip, and the sick, wounded, medical staff, and displaced people present there.
Palestinian media quoted the association as saying in a statement today: For the tenth day in a row, the Israeli occupation’s bombing and shooting continues in the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital and the association’s headquarters in Khan Yunis. The wounded and sick, about 100 medical and ambulance crews, and 7,000 displaced people, the majority of whom are children and women, live in constant terror and anxiety.
The Red Crescent Society indicated that the occupation forces stormed into the hospital courtyard and the society’s headquarters yesterday with their military vehicles after destroying the fence surrounding the buildings, and fired bullets and smoke bombs at those present in the place in violation of international humanitarian law, which stipulates the protection of civilians, medical teams, workers in the humanitarian field, and hospitals.
