Palestinian Red Crescent: Scores of patients and displaced persons injured as the Israeli occupation shells the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The Palestinian Red Crescent announced on Sunday that patients and displaced persons at Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza were injured and they suffered from suffocation as a result of the Israeli occupation’s airstrikes against the vicinity of the hospital. Parts of the hospital was damaged.
The Red Crescent stated: “The Israeli occupation wants to force us to evacuate the hospital by deliberately targeting its surroundings with continuous and intense missiles”, stressing that despite the occupation’s threats to bomb the hospital, the medical staff refuse to evacuate it, and insist on continuing their humanitarian work by providing health care to the wounded and the sick.
“Since early morning, the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital has witnessed continued raids that led to the destruction of some of the buildings surrounding it within a 50-metre radius”, it added.
The spokeswoman of the Palestinian Red Crescent said: “We are deeply concerned about the safety of the hospital’s staff”, calling on the international community to intervene to protect the medical staff after the criminal occupying entity called for the immediate evacuation of Al-Quds Hospital, which is housing about 12,000 displaced people.
In the same context, the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed its deep concern about the threats of the fascist Zionist entity to Al-Quds Hospital in the Gaza Strip and the demand for its immediate evacuation in preparation for its bombing.
The WHO director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that: “The reports of warnings to evacuate Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza are extremely worrying”, stressing that it is impossible to evacuate hospitals that are full of patients without endangering their lives.
