Palestinian prisoners prepare for the battle of “Volcano of freedom or martyrdom”

For the thirty-fourth day, the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation detention centers continue their struggle, rejecting the occupation’s escalation of its arbitrary measures against them, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law.

The Commission for the Affairs of Palestinian Detainees and Released and the Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, that the prisoners continue their preparation to wage the battle of hunger strike, which is scheduled to start on the first day of Ramadan under the title “Volcano of Freedom or Martyrdom”.

The Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement clarified in a statement on Saturday that the hunger strike has become the only option for the prisoners, in light of the intransigence of the occupation and its continued harassment of them. We are still determined to confront this arrogance and stop this attack. We will not bother with the costs of that, we have no choice but to win after the confrontation, we have prepared ourselves for the battle of freedom strike or martyrdom that will start on the first day of Ramadan, as long as  the occupation authorities don’t stop their violations.

The committee called on the Palestinians to support the prisoners with solidarity stands on the evening of next Tuesday, covering all parts of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Since the beginning of this year, the occupation authorities have intensified their aggressive practices against the prisoners. In addition to psychological and physical torture, deliberate medical neglect and solitary confinement, they have reduced the quantities of water and food and denied them visits to their families, in addition to approving the law of executing prisoners, which is a war crime and a clear violation of international agreements and laws.
