Palestinian Prisoners’ Institutions: Occupation has detained more than 10,000 Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of its aggression on Gaza

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – Palestinian Prisoners Institutions announced that the Israeli occupation detained more than 10 thousand Palestinians in the West Bank since the start of its aggression on Gaza Strip on the 7th of last October.

Wafa News Agency quoted The Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs, the Prisoners’ Club, and the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association as saying that: 700 cases of detention against children were recorded. 250 out of 700 children remained in detention centers, while 345 cases of detention against women were recorded, 83 of whom are still being held in the Demon prison, and 94 journalists were detained, 53 of whom are being held in the occupation’s jails.

The institutions indicated that the detention campaigns launched by the occupation forces are accompanied by crimes of abuse, assaults, and threats against detainees, using them as human shields, carrying out field executions against their family members, vandalizing and destroying homes and seizing property.

The institutions indicated that no less than 22 prisoners were martyred in the occupation’s prisons after October 7, due to crimes of torture, starvation, and medical negligence, and the occupation is still holding the bodies of 20 of them.

The institutions indicated that the total number of prisoners in the occupation’s prisons until the beginning of this month is more than 9900; stressing that there is no information about the number of detentions from Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that that the occupation admitted that it detained about 4,000 Palestinians, and that dozens of the detainees were martyred in the prisons and the occupation did not disclose their identities or the circumstances of their martyrdom, in addition to dozens who were subjected to field executions.
