Palestinian Prisoners Club warns of the deterioration of the health condition of Palestinian prisoner, Abdel Basset Maatan

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Jan.17, (ST)-The Palestinian Prisoners Club  has warned of the deterioration of the health condition of the Palestinian prisoner, Abdel Basset Maatan, as a result of the policy of deliberated medical negligence, which the Israeli occupation authorities practices against the prisoners.

In a statement published by Wafa Agency on Tuesday, the club said: “The prisoner, Maatan, 49, from the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, had colon and gland cancer for several years, and before his repeated arrest, he underwent several surgeries, during which part of the colon was removed, and chemotherapy sessions affected his condition….As a result, he had disks in his back..Yet the occupation forces re-arrested him even though he spent 9 years in their jails.”
.
The club indicated that the prisoner, Maatan, suffers from a continuous decrease in weight, general weakness in the body, and has a mass on the lung, and his health condition necessitates treatment, but the occupation authorities deliberately neglect him.

The club called on the international community and human rights institutions to intervene immediately and urgently in order to release him and all sick Palestinian prisoners in the occupation’s jails.
