Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Commission: Occupation forces arrested 350 Palestinians during last month

The Palestinian Prisoners and Released Affairs Commission confirmed today that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 350 Palestinians during the month of May.

According to WAFA agency, Hassan Abd Rabbo, spokesman for the commission, said that most of the detainees are from Jerusalem and its surroundings, warning of a sudden health deterioration that may lead to the death of the prisoner Khalil Awawda, who is on hunger strike for the 92nd day, at any moment.

Abd Rabbo said: The prisoner Awawda, who is being held in Ramle prison, faces a real danger to his life, warning of a sudden health setback that may lead to his death or injury to his nervous system due to damage to the functions of his vital organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys and lungs.

Prisoner, Raed Rayan, 27, who is held in solitary confinement in Ofer Detention Center, continues his strike for the 56th day. He suffers from headaches and joints and pressure in his eyes. He complains of severe fatigue and vomiting continuously, and he cannot walk and he moves in a wheelchair.

The occupation authorities continue their intransigence and refuse to release the two prisoners, despite the appeals of the Palestinian prisoners’ institutions to the Red Cross and the international institutions concerned with prisoners’ affairs to intervene to save their lives.

Until the end of last month, the occupation forces arrested about 4,600 Palestinian prisoners, including 31 women and 172 children.
