Palestinian prisoner, Khalil Awawda, resumes his hunger strike

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The Palestinian prisoner, Khalil Awawda, resumed his hunger strike in protest against the Israeli occupation authorities’ reversal of the decision to release him.
The spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoner and Ex-Prisoner Affairs Authority, Hassan Abed Rabbo, told Wafa news agency that “The occupation authorities had pledged to release Awawda on the twenty-six of last June, but they failed to do so and extended his detention for four months, which made him resume his hunger strike since last Saturday”.
Abed Rabbo warned that resuming this strike again poses a greater danger to Awawda health than the continuous strike period he has been through.
The 40-year-old prisoner, Awawda, suspended his hunger strike, which lasted for 111 days, on the twenty-first of last June after the occupation authorities pledged to release him.
In a related context, the prisoner Raed Rayan continues his strike for the 90th day, amid severe deterioration to his health.
