Palestinian parties welcome adoption of UN General Assembly Resolution that calls on “Israel” to end its occupation of Palestinian land

The Palestinian National Liberation Movement “Fatah” welcomed the adoption of a United Nations General Assembly resolution on Wednesday by an overwhelming majority calling on the Israeli occupation entity to end its occupation of the Palestinian land within 12 months.

Fatah movement stressed in a statement, reported by the Palestinian WAFA Agency, that this resolution demonstrates the isolation of the occupation, which continues its systematic war of extermination on Gaza Strip and the West Bank since October 7, in flagrant violation of international law. It stressed that the sacrifices of the Palestinian people will result in the restoration of  their legitimate national rights.

For its part, Hamas movement considered the UN resolution an expression of the true international will supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, foremost of which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, President of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, expressed his appreciation and thanks to the countries that supported this resolution, stressing that this international stance is an important step towards achieving justice for the Palestinian people and ending the occupation.

Fattouh pointed out that this resolution is a victory for the justice of the Palestinian cause and reflects the international community’s support for the Palestinian right and its right to self-determination and stresses the need to end all forms of violations of legitimate Palestinian rights.
