Palestinian officials hold Israel, US responsible for deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian territories
The official spokesman for the Palestinian presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh on Saturday said that the Israeli occupation authorities and the United States are responsible for the deterioration on the ground in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Israel has crossed all red lines by insisting on the killings and incursions into the Palestinian cities, villages and refugee camps, the latest of which was the assault on Balata camp in Nablus this morning, that led to the martyrdom of two young men and the wounding of others, in addition to the continuous Israeli aggression for the fifth consecutive day against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, Abu Rudeineh said in a statement reported by WAFA News Agency.
He held the Israeli occupation government responsible for these serious crimes committed against all the Palestinian territories, which, he warned, will have great repercussions on the stability of the entire region.
He said that the US administration also bears responsibility for the deterioration of the situation as a result of its silence toward the Israeli crimes and failure to immediately intervene to stop them, which encourages Israel to persist in its aggression against the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called for a firm international stand to force the Israeli occupation to stop its aggression against Gaza Strip and to reopen the crossings to allow entry of medical and food supplies, fuel, and other life essentials.
In a statement, the ministry considered the Israeli government’s refusal to allow entry of assistance and medical and food supplies into the besieged Gaza Strip as a blatant violation of international law, the Geneva Convention and the international humanitarian law.
For its part, Fateh Movement condemned today’s Israeli crime of killing two Palestinian young men, stressing that the continuous Israeli aggression will fail to weaken the determination of the Palestinian people and resistance to get rid of occupation and restore their land and rights.
Speaker of the Palestinian National Council Rouhi Fattouh called on the United Nations and the International Criminal Court to conduct investigation into the occupation’s massacres and violations being committed against the Palestinians.
For his part, Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), called for stopping the constant Israeli aggression on the Palestinians and for the reopening of the crossings into the besieged Gaza Strip after five days of closure by the Israeli occupation authorities.
