Palestinian Foreign Ministry: The occupation bombardment of an UNRWA school housing displaced people in Gaza Strip is a horrible crime

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Israeli occupation’s bombing of a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), which houses hundreds of Palestinians who took refuge there and were displaced from their homes in the Gaza Strip, is a crime.

In a statement today reported by Wafa, the Foreign Ministry condemned the continuing massacres committed by the occupation against the people of the Gaza Strip, which affected dozens of families, some of whom were completely or partially exterminated, in addition to the continuing brutal destruction of homes and institutions, which left hundreds of martyrs and thousands others injured and also led to the displacement of thousands of Palestinians from their homes.

The Foreign ministry called on the international community and relevant UN organizations to stop the crimes of the occupation and the massacres it is committing under the cover of some countries that were quick to give the green light to the Israeli entity to commit heinous massacres against the Palestinian people under the so-called (self-defense) slogan.

UNRWA said  that about 74 thousands Palestinians were displaced  and they took refuge in 64  schools and shelters affiliated with Organization in Gaza Strip, pointing out that the number is likely to increase  with the continued bombing and air strikes of the occupation.

UNRWA pointed out that a school affiliated to the organization in Gaza Strip and housing 225 displaced Palestinians was subjected to direct bombardment that caused severe damage to the school. UNRWA called for the protection of civilians and stressed the necessity of not bombing schools and infrastructure, including those that shelter displaced families.
