Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Israeli occupation works to seize entire Palestinian land

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Israeli occupation expands settlement operations and imposes a colonial reality that closes the door to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. This proves the absence of the international will to stop the occupation’s  systematic destruction to change the features of the land and its historical, legal and demographic identity.

In a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that hardly a day passes without the occupation implementing settlement plans that plunder hundreds of dunums of Palestinian lands, the latest of which was announcing the establishment of 364 new settlement units on the lands of the towns of Ras Karkar and Deir Ibzi’, west of Ramallah, and uprooting a thousand olive seedlings in Hajjah town near Qalqilya. It referred to the ongoing house demolitions and the distribution of notices to stop any construction process for Palestinians, as is the case in Jericho, the town of Kafr Laqif and the northern Jordan Valley, and the escalation in land razing operations, as in Isawiya and Silwan in Jerusalem and Masafer Yatta in Hebron and south of Nablus.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that the occupation is working to link the new settlement outposts with the existing settlements in the West Bank with the aim of turning them into a single settlement group linked to the settlements it establishes on the occupied lands in 1948. This means devouring the entire Palestinian land from the river to the sea and annexing it by the force of the occupation. It stressed that the failure to exercise international pressure in a real and effective way on the occupation to stop settlements exposes the falseness of international allegations regarding adherence to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
