Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Expressing international concern is not enough as it provides cover for more Israeli crimes

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has affirmed that expressing the international community’s concern over the Israeli occupation’s crimes and settlement expansion is not enough and it provides a cover that gives the occupation more time to eliminate any opportunity to establish a Palestinian state, pointing out that this concern must be accompanied by practical measures.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the international failure to implement the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, especially Resolution 2334, which confirms the illegality of settlement activities, and the continued impunity of “Israel” from accountability reveals the falsehood of the positions of some countries that provide protection for the occupation and reflects double standards in dealing with international law and its applications.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the continued terrorism of the occupation forces and settlers against the Palestinians, their land, property, and sanctities, including the continuous home demolition crimes, such as the one that was committed in the town of Al-Sawahra in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The Foreign Ministry also condemned the escalation of settlers’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, the uprooting of dozens of fruit trees in Bethlehem, and the deprivation of the Palestinians from building agricultural roads to prevent them from entering their lands.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that these violations amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity for which perpetrators should be held accountable, and they come within the framework of an open war that aims at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
