The Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday, reported by Wafa Agency: The occupation government insists on building thousands of new settlement units in the West Bank, especially in Al-Quds, ignoring international resolutions that confirm the illegality of settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry also demanded that these  new settlement units must not be established.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry added: “We look positively at the international positions and reactions which reject building new  settlement. It also mentioned that these positions are still weak and insufficient as long as they are not accompanied by practical measures and real pressures that force the occupation entity to stop all its settlement activities.”

The Foreign Ministry called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in implementing UN Resolution 2334, which affirms the illegality of Israeli settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories and calls for its cessation. It also called on countries to place settler organizations on terrorist lists and impose sanctions on them.
