Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls on the international community to protect educational institutions
Occupied Al-Quds,(ST)- The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community and United Nations organizations, especially UNESCO, to provide protection for educational institutions and their staff, as well as for students and children.
The Ministry also called for guaranting the students’ right to freedom, movement, education, and access to their studies in safety and peace, as this is a basic principle of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Wafa News Agency reported on Wednesday that the Foreign Ministry condemned the burning of Zanota Basic School by gangs of settler colonists under the protection of the occupation forces, south of the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) in the occupied West Bank, and their assault on a female employee at the school.
The ministry warned of the danger of the escalation of the crimes of settler colonists against the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, which recently resulted in the displacement of dozens of Palestinian families forcibly from their villages, as part of the occupation’s plans to annex the occupied West Bank, Judaize it, and fight the Palestinian presence there.
