Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls for international intervention to stop the Israeli excavations in Al-Aqsa Mosque

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its calling on the international community urgently to stop the excavations carried out by the Israeli occupation under and around Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Foreign Ministry indicated in a statement on Sunday, carried by Wafa News Agency that, these excavations target the foundations of the mosque, and causes a great danger, especially to the mosque located under the Qibli prayer hall, which cracks appeared in its walls and stones fell from its columns during the past days.

The Foreign Ministry condemned the occupation authorities’ prevention of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments to restore the mosque and to send a specialized technical team to examine the excavations around the southern wall and their effects on Al-Aqsa’s buildings, walls and columns. It stressed the need for the international community and the relevant UN organizations to break their silence towards the occupation’s ongoing excavations for decades and to oblige the occupation authorities to preserve the historical situation and the legal existing in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
