Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki
WAFA news agency quoted Al-Maliki as saying in today’s statements: The members of the team of doctors are present at the University Hospital in Aleppo Governorate, next to their Syrian colleagues, to deal with medical cases, provide treatment, carry out joint surgeries and necessary medical examinations, and distribute medicines donated by the private sector in Palestine to those in need.
Al-Maliki noted that the members of the team from the Red Crescent have activated the work of the medical point in the southern Raml camp in the Al-KhairiyaSchool shelter center in Lattakia governorate. They provide first and urgent medical aid to the people of the camp in general, and to residents of the shelters in particular. They are working on three shifts around the clock where they dealt with dozens of cases.
Al-Maliki indicated that shelters have been supplied with emergency medicines. Psychological support has been provided to those who have completely lost their families and the patients’ companions as well as to those affected by the earthquake inside the shelter in Al-Khairiya School. Various activities and events for psychological support are being implemented in other shelters, based on the need.
Regarding the team members from the Civil Defense, Al-Maliki pointed out that they are continuing search and rescue operations in the southern Raml camp.
A Palestinian rescue team arrived in Syria last Thursday through the Nassib border crossing with Jordan, including 43 people from the Civil Defense, the Palestinian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
