Palestinian Foreign minister necessitates the ending of the occupation that violates the rights of the Palestinian people for 75 years
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki confirmed that the Israeli occupation has been violating the rights of the Palestinian people for 75 years, most notably the right to life and the right to self-determination, stressing the need to end the occupation and stop its crimes that violate all provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Wafa Agency quoted Al-Maliki as saying in a statement on Sunday “The 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Nakba and the continued suffering of the Palestinian people as a result of Israeli colonialism and the apartheid regime and its crimes that threaten the existence of the Palestinian people,”.
He noted that the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been facing Israeli aggression for 65 days , a war of extermination, starvation, and cutting off aid, water, electricity, and medicine, which has led to a humanitarian catastrophe, killing more than 17,700 Palestinians, and wounding more than 48,780.
Al-Maliki pointed out that the occupation’s bombing led to the martyrdom of 295 medical personnel . 22 hospitals and 46 health centers are out of service, in addition to the martyrdom of 81 journalists.This is happening with the aim of silencing the Palestinian voice and preventing the world from learning the truth about the massacres, war crimes and displacement of more than 1.7 million people in addition to destroying homes, hospitals, roads and infrastructure.
Al-Maliki stated that the occupation is escalating its crimes against the Palestinians in the West Bank, as its forces have killed 275 Palestinians, including 63 children, since the beginning of the aggression against the Strip on October the 7th .
The Palestinian minister stressed the need to end the Israeli occupation so that the Palestinian people can enjoy their rights stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights like other peoples.
He called on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities and intervene immediately to stop the occupation’s aggression against the Gaza Strip, stop forced displacement, allow the entry of humanitarian aid into it, and work to provide International protection for the Palestinian people, while holding the occupation accountable for its crimes against them.
