Palestinian FM warns against international silence on Israeli occupation’s attempts to Judaize Al-Quds

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Aug.30, (ST)- The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has renewed its call on the international community to assume its responsibilities in taking the necessary measures to implement the relevant UN resolutions, end the Israeli occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Foreign Ministry warned in a statement released on Tuesday against the consequences of the international silence on the occupation’s attempts to Judaize the occupied city of Al-Quds [Jerusalem], noting that the occupation authorities’ announcement of a plan to establish hundreds of settlements near the town of Beit Safafa, south of the city, comes within the framework of the open occupation war on the holy city with the aim of changing its reality and landmarks and its identity and isolating it from its Palestinian environment and linking it to the settlements established on the lands which were occupied since 1948.

The Ministry pointed out that the expansion of settlements in Jerusalem is accompanied by continuous daily attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, mainly Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the imposition of further restrictions on the Palestinian presence in the city through continued house demolitions, ethnic cleansing and aggression against Palestinian educational institutions.
