Palestinian education ministry calls on international human rights organizations to protect educational institutions from Israeli attacks

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): The Palestinian Ministry of Education called on international human rights institutions to assume their responsibility to protect Palestinian schools from the threats of the Israeli occupation and its continuous notifications against educational institutions and obstructing their progress in various Palestinian cities.

The ministry confirmed in a statement, reported by the Palestinian Wafa Agency, that the occupation’s notification to demolish the Umm Qassah Elementary School in the Yatta area, south of Hebron, falls within the framework of the raging attack against educational institutions, cadres, and students, with the aim of striking the foundations of education, which constitutes the pillars of steadfastness and the preservation of the Palestinian national identity in the face of Judaization.

The Ministry called on the European Union missions and international institutions defending children to take a firm and serious stance towards these violations, which contradict the system of international laws and human rights, especially the right to education.
