Palestinian Education Ministry: 12,061 students martyred since beginning of war of extermination

The Palestinian Ministry of Education revealed that 12,061 students were martyred and 19,467 were injured since the beginning of the Israeli war of extermination on October 7, 2023.

Wafa Agency quoted the Ministry of Education as saying in a statement today: “The number of students martyred in Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression reached 11,946 and those injured reached 18,858, while 115 students were martyred in the West Bank and 609 were injured, in addition to the arrest of 466. Moreover 564 teachers and administrators were martyred and 3,729 were injured in Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 153 were arrested in the West Bank.”

The ministry pointed out that 441 schools and universities and 65 schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) were bombed and vandalized in Gaza Strip, 77 of which were completely destroyed and 126 were severely damaged. It noted that 91 schools and 7 universities in the West Bank were stormed and sabotaged.

The ministry indicated that 788,000 students in the Strip are still deprived of attending their schools and universities since the beginning of the aggression, while most students suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health conditions.
