Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees’  Commission Affairs: The occupation turns detention centers into cemeteries for the living

The Palestinian Detainees’ Commission Affairs has  confirmed that the Israeli occupation has escalated the rate of attacks on prisoners in its detention centers since the beginning of its aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7, turning them into cemeteries for the living.

The Commission said in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency: The occupation authorities have  prevented visits from families and lawyers to the prisoners, and have completely isolated them from the outside world since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The occupation  forces also daily storm the detention centers and assault the prisoners with severe  gas bombs and bullets, noting the martyrdom of 6 prisoners and large numbers were left with deep wounds and broken hands and legs.

The Commission pointed out the aggressive practices and racist measures to which prisoners are exposed from the moment of their arrest, as the occupation forces deliberately break down the homes of detainees during arrests and raids. , and leave them without treatment in addition to depriving them inside the detention centers of water, food, blankets, personal belongings, and clothing.

The Commission explained that the occupation’s fierce attack on the prisoners coincides with the absence of the role of human rights and humanitarian institutions in providing the slightest protection and follow-up of their conditions and rights, which the occupation clearly violates on a daily basis, practicing a policy of slow killing against them.
