Palestine’s Envoy to UN: International community should act decisively to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine
Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Riad Mansour has renewed his country’s call on the international community to work effectively and implement the international resolutions on ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine and help the Palestinians restore their inalienable legitimate rights.
All the violations of the Israeli occupation and extremist settlers against the Palestinians and their properties are committed intentionally and systematically to displace the Palestinians and dispossess them of their lands, Mansour said, according to WAFA News Agency.
He clarified that the occupation has confiscated very wide areas of Palestinian land to build hundreds of settlement units, reiterating the need to hold the Israeli entity accountable for its crimes in the occupied territories.
“The occupation authorities are planning to establish 2000 settlement units in Jabal Abu Ghneim area in occupied Al-Quds. In addition, 1200 Palestinians in Masafer Yatta town, south of the West Bank city of Al-Khalil, are facing displacement and ethnic cleansing as a result of the occupation’s settlement building plans,” he made it clear.
Mansour went on to say that the occupation forces has destroyed 51 Palestinian-owned buildings in occupied Al-Quds, displacing 40 Palestinians, including 21 children, not to mention the continuous unfair blockade that has been imposed on Gaza Strip for more than 15 years and that caused scarcity in the different elements of life.
The Palestinian diplomat pointed out that during the past three days, the occupation executed three Palestinians and caused injuries to dozens others in the West Bank in its ongoing aggression on the Palestinian people.
