Palestine’s Fatah Adherent to Preserving Ties with Syria

RAMALLAH-The Central Committee of the Palestinian Movement “Fatah” has reiterated its adherence to maintaining ties with Syria and not interfering in Syria’s internal affairs. It urged all Palestinian parties to respect this stance.

The Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported on Sunday that during a meeting yesterday, chaired by the Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, the Committee discussed the results of a visit by the Committee’s member Abbas Zaki to Syria and called on all Palestinian parties to be adherent to the Palestinian national consensus and to bilateral relations with Syria.

The Committee also affirmed that the incessant Israeli settlement building activities in the Palestinian territories undermine the peace process.

“Settlement building is entirely illegal and void,” stressed members of the committee.

Nabil Abou Rudain, Fatah spokesman pointed out that the committee is keen to liberate all the Palestinian prisoners and detainees from the Israeli jails.
