Pakistan Supports National Dialogue in Syria,Says Zardari

A letter from President Bashar al-Assad to President Asif Ali Zardari handed over by Dr. Faisal Mekdad Deputy, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates during their meeting in Karachi this afternoon(Monday).

During the meeting,President Zardari stressed the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries that connects the Syrian and Pakistani peoples and the need for development in all areas.

Zardari stressed the need of Syria to go beyond the crisis and the importance of stopping violence in Syria and his country’s support for a national dialogue between the Syrians and external non-interference in Syria’s internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty and independence.

For his part, Miqdad showed the situation experienced by Syria as a result of terrorism, which exposed to it by support, funding and training by some of the neighboring countries and the Gulf Arab states and their patrons in the United States, France and Britain in particular for the Syrian bloodshed, and the destruction of infrastructure and economic structures built by the of Syrian people.

Al-Miqdad also  explained the devastating effects of the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Syria and its people for the purpose of undermining its steadfastness in service to the Israeli objectives and colonial.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani and Senator Farah Allah Barber, spokesman for the Pakistani presidency and Ali Muhra on the Syrian embassy charge d’affaires in Pakistan.
