Pakistan’ Foreign Minister affirms his country’s determination to develop relations with Syria

ISLAMABAD, Jul.26, (ST)-The Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto Zardari affirmed his country’s determination to develop relations with Syria in many fields.

Zardari’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with the Chargé d’Affairs at the Syrian Embassy in Islamabad, Ambassador Mazen Obaid.

He described the relationship between Pakistan and Syria as “fruitful”, pointing out that Pakistan has not abandoned Syria during the war it has been exposed to.

The Pakistani minister underscored his country’s determination to strengthen the solid relationship with Syria for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

For his part, Obaid expressed Syria’s appreciation for the Pakistani efforts to support it in all political, economic and social fields, stressing the need to enhance bilateral trade between Syria and Pakistan.

The ambassador asserted the importance of establishing the joint Pakistani-Syrian Business Council and exchanging visits between businessmen in the two countries, indicating that the relations between the two sides began to develop through the signing of the cultural agreement and the resumption of flights.
