PA Speaker Underscores Need to Enhance Relations with Czech Republic

Speaker of the People’s Assembly [Parliament] Hadiyeh Abbas has underscored the need to enhance relations with Czech republic in all fields, especially parliamentary field.

She said-during her today meeting with Czech Parliamentary delegation headed by Zuzka Bebarová Rujbrová- that the delegation’s visit to Syria is an ‘important initiative’ reflecting civilized and humanitarian value.

 “The delegation’s visit will help develop bilateral relations between Syria and Czech republic,” the speaker added, stressing that visits being paid by delegations from friendly countries will lead to unveil the terror war on Syria and the support being offered by Arab and regional countries to terrorists.

Abbas also referred to Czech’s role in supporting Syrian people during the crisis the country is going through.

Syria is able to restore peace to all areas

On her part, Rujbrová expressed confidence about Syria’s ability to restore peace and stability to all areas in the country and to start rebuilding process to ensure the return of displaced families to their homes.

She indicated daily victories being realized by Syria over terrorism, stressing the  importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in counterterrorism.  

“Czech will go ahead with offering humanitarian aid to Syrian people and it’s ready to take part in rebuilding process. We are sure that we are able to develop bilateral relations,” Rujbrová said.

MP Laois Luzz, a member of Foreign Relations Committee in Czech Parliament,clarified that the delegation’s visit aims to have an idea about the situation in Syria.

“Syrian citizens are going out to their works as usual and kids are safe at schools despite the difficult circumstances. This is an indicator of Syria’s victory,” he added.

Terrorism is common enemy

The MP pointed out that Europe is closely following up what is going on in Syria and it works on dealing with the question of refugees.

“Terrorism is a common enemy to the Czech and Syria and it must be eliminated,” he said, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency noted that the delegation visited a shelter in Mashroa Dommar area in Damascus and it was briefed on services being offered to displaced families there.

Yesterday, the delegation arrived in Syria for a several-day visit  upon an invitation from the Syrian parliament. It is composed of four MPs representing various political parties in the Czech Republic.
