PA Speaker: Syrian People Proud of Armenian’s Support

DAMASCUS- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh al-Sabbagh discussed on Tuesday with Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Arshak Poladian the need for strengthening relations between Syria and Armenia in all fields, particularly in the Parliamentary field through the exchange of visits and delegations aimed at deepening friendship and serving both countries’ interests, according to SANA.

Syria and Armenia have been bound by deep-rooted brotherly ties, said al-Sabbagh, expressing the Syrian people’s pride in the Armenia support for the Syrians in the war against terrorism.

He expressed hope that Armenia will have an effective role in the rebuilding stage in Syria.

For his part, Poladian referred to the history, common denominators and principles uniting the two countries, affirming that Syria has “a special place in the heart of every Armenian citizen”.

He clarified that the war against Syria is nearing its end, stressing that his country will continue to stand firm in its support for the Syrian leadership, government and people until the final victory over terrorism is achieved.
