PA Speaker: Syrian Expatriates a ‘Civilized Bridge for Their Homeland’

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Speaker of the People’s Assembly [Parliament] Hadiyah Abbas has described the Syrian expatriates as ‘civilized bridge for their homeland’.

She told the Syrian expatriates in Kuwait, who are visiting the homeland, that the Syrian communities in all countries of the world, especially in Kuwait have played a positive role in confronting the fierce terrorist aggression on Syria through their constant efforts to enhance the country’s steadfastness.

The Speaker referred – during her today’s meeting with the expatriates delegation-to the expatriates’ adherence to their supportive stances towards the homeland despite the pressure put on them.

She asserted that Syria is keen on communicating with Syrian expatriates all over the world and strengthening their link with the homeland as well as getting benefit from their experiences.

“The conspiracy against Syria has been foiled in Damascus and Aleppo and there is no fear about Syria’s history, civilization and steadfastness,” Abbas added.

On their part, the visiting expatriates said that they have ideas about investment projects targeting martyrs’ families in the homeland.

The expatriates arrived in Syria on Monday and held talks with several Syrian officials and visited wounded Syrian soldiers in Hospital of ‘Martyr Yousef al-Azmeh’ in Damascus.
