PA Speaker, MPs, several ministers offer condolences on assassination of al-Muhandis and his companions
BAGHDAD, (ST)- The Iraqi Embassy in Damascus continued on Wednesday for the second consecutive day to receive delegations of consolers who visited the embassy to offer their condolences on the martyrdom of Deputy Commander of the Iraqi Mobilization Units Ab Mahdi al-Muhandis and his companions as a result of US airstrikes near Baghdad Airport.
Among the consolers were Speaker of the People’s Assembly (PA) Hammouda Sabbagh, some PA members, several ministers and Arab ambassadors in Damascus, a number of Syrian army officers and some Christian and Moslem religious men.
“This crime won’t stop resistance heroes from continuing to confront and eliminate the tools of evil, aggression and terrorism which are trying to destroy our country and people,” Sabbagh said in a statement to SANA.
On his part, the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus Javad Turkabadi said that the martyrdom of Iraqi and Iranian resistance leaders will backfire on the enemies of Islamic nation, referring to the Iranian retaliation against the US assassination crime.
