PA Speaker Meets European Parliamentary Delegation

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda al-Sabbagh has stressed that Syria’s priorities for the  present are eliminating terrorism, encouraging local reconciliations, guaranteeing the return of the people, displaced because of terrorism, to their homes and launching a reconstruction process in the country.

 During his meeting on Sunday with a European Parliamentary delegation, al-Sabbagh said Syria, as people, army and leadership, has managed to foil the conspiracies hatched against the country and it will continue to confront all suspicious schemes that target its sovereignty and unity, particularly because it is fighting terrorism on behalf of the entire world.

On their part, members of the guest delegation asserted that their visit to Syria is an opportunity to get a acquainted with the reality of events in the country away from the misleading reports of the western media outlets. They pointed out that facts on ground indicate that the Syrian people are adherent to the culture of life and will for victory.
