PA Speaker Discusses with Projerdi and Dulaimi Ways to Strengthen Relations with Iran and Iraq

Baghdad – Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hamouda Sabbagh and member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council, head of the Iranian parliamentary delegation to the Conference of parliaments of neighboring countries of Iraq Alaeddin Borujerdi discussed here ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Syria and Iran.

During the meeting, the two sides reiterated the importance of developing relations between the two countries and maintaining joint coordination at all levels, especially with regard to combating terrorism.

 

In a statement to the SANA correspondent in Baghdad, Boroujerdi described the US president’s declaration on the occupied Syrian Golan as “an illegitimate decision,” adding that “many decisions issued by the US administration are similar to this decision, but have not achieved anything. “

On the one hand, during the meeting at his residence in the Iraqi capital, Me Sabbagh received a number of members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, including former ministers. The Speaker of the People’s Assembly stressed that the strengthening of Syrian-Iraqi relations and its development in the economic and investment aspects and the exchange of experiences will be of great benefit to the Syrian and Iraqi people.

Mr. Sabagh noted the historical relations and the unity of the situation between the Syrian and Iraqi peoples in the face of the challenges facing the brotherly countries.

The Iraqi MPs also praised the Syrian Arab Army’s victories over Takfiri terrorism and expressed their satisfaction with Syria’s participation in the conference of parliaments of the neighboring countries of Iraq and their belief that the victories of the Syrian and Iraqi armies on terrorism saved the whole world from its evil and crimes.
