PA Speaker: China Will Be Syria’s Key Partner in Reconstruction Process

DAMASCUS- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh affirmed the importance of China’s stances in support of Syria during the years of the crisis.

Sabbagh’s remarks came during a meeting on Thursday with China’s Ambassador to Syria Feng Biao and the accompanying delegation.

According to SANA, Sabbagh pointed out to the deep-rooted historical relations binding Syria and China, expressing confidence that China will be a real partner to Syria in the reconstruction process as it has been a partner in steadfastness and victory.

The Speaker called for bolstering parliamentary relations between the two countries to serve the interests of the two peoples.

 For his part, the Chinese Ambassador hailed Syria’s victories over terrorism, affirming that China will encourage its companies to participate in the reconstruction stage in Syria.

Syria represents an important stop on the Silk Road which connects China with the countries of the region, Biao said.

He reiterated his country’s support for resolving the crisis in Syria, stressing the Syrian people’s right to decide their future by the themselves away from foreign interference.
