Our position on the illegality of settlement in the Palestinian territories is consistent, says Austria

Occupied al-Quds, (ST) – Austria’s Foreign Minister Alexander Schalinberg affirmed that his country’s position on the illegality of Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories remains unchanged and is based on international legal decisions, international law, and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1976.

Schalinberg stressed during a telephone conversation with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki today that his country rejects any unilateral move, indicating that the settlement of the Palestinian issue must be carried out through negotiations, Wafa News Agency reported.

A meeting will be held soon for the European Union foreign ministers to complete their discussions on the plans of the Israeli occupation to annex lands from the West Bank and intensify European and international efforts to prevent this from happening, Schalinberg added.
