Our Olympic team is in the second group in the West Asian Football Championship

The draw for the third edition of the West Asian U-23 Olympic Team Championship has placed the Syrian Olympic team in Group B along with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the third of next month.

The first group included the teams of the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar and Lebanon, and our team will play against Bahrain on the third of November, while the Syrian team will play against Saudi Arabia on the sixth. It is noteworthy that the tournament system stipulates that the first and second of each group qualify to the semi-finals.

Our national team coach, Mark Vote, explained that the draw is interesting after it put us against one of the most prominent candidates to win the title, the host Saudi team, pointing out the importance of winning the first match against Bahrain because it is the gateway to the semi-finals.
