Raqqa (ST): The first Syrian Heritage Festival was launched today in the town of Al-Hamdania in the liberated eastern countryside of Raqqa, which is organized by the Vanguards of the Baath branch in cooperation with the Directorate of Education and the local community in the province, entitled “Our heritage is our wealth.”
The festival included various segments, including the “Tent House of Poetry”, which contains the traditional method of making milk and mills used for grinding grain, spinning wool, agricultural tools and special folk costumes in Raqqa Governorate, in addition to lyrical paragraphs from the governorate’s heritage.
The Secretary of the Vanguards of the Ba’ath branch in Raqqa, Muhammad Al-Khalaf, said in a statement to news reporter that the festival’s activities aim to showcase the region’s cultural heritage and the tools that were used in the region’s daily activities.
In turn, the Director of Education in Raqqa, Firas Al-Alou, explained that the festival depicts the social customs and traditions of the governorate in terms of popular dishes, heritage and artistic performances performed by the students of Al-Hamdaniya School.
