DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Dr. Khider Orfali underlined that the reconstruction process, which is supposed to take place in Syria in the near future, requires a realistic consideration about the inability of the public sector alone to meet the requirements of this stage and confirms the urgent need for all energies, especially the energies of the private sector
In a press statement, Dr. Orfali clarified the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors and to mobilize the full potential of the community, including the energies, resources and expertise to contribute to the process of economic and social growth.
He pointed to the need of partnership between the public and private sectors in institutional organizations that establish and operate projects of various kinds, especially after the challenges and difficulties that encountered the institution of separate organizations in achieving the goals of development.
The Minister called for the adoption of systems that contribute to the partnership in which all sectors of society in the management and operation of projects and business development in order to serve their purposes on the basis of transparent, accountable and mutual benefit.
“To ensure the success of the partnership is not limited to legislations and regulations, but also to create successful links between the parties of partnership including their administrative, legal, economic and social dimensions and aspects to meet at common points based on the principles of transparency, disclosure, accountability and equal rights of stakeholders and identify responsibilities in order to raise the efficiency of resources use, to enhance competitiveness, to attract sources of funding, to expand projects to create new jobs and to support economic stability,” Dr. Orfali concluded.
