Orfali : Developing Mechanisms to Open New Export Markets

DAMASCUS, (ST) -The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Khider Orfali, underlined the importance of the export sector as a real and important tributary to the national economy, especially in light of the current circumstances taking place in Syria and the accompanying unjust siege on the Syrian people.

During a meeting with the chairman of the Syrian  Federation of Exporters (SFE), the Minister pointed to the need to strengthen cooperation between the parties involved in the process of export in the public and private sectors , including the Syrian Federation of Exporters and to develop mechanisms and plans for improving the situation of export and open new export markets for the export of products that meet popularity in overseas markets because of their competitive price and its high quality.

For his part, chairman of the Syrian  Federation of Exporters, Mohammed Nasser al Sawah,  presented the SEF’s plan in the field of export , noting the efforts exerted by the government to support exporters through the development and promotion of exports at the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade.

It is worth mentioned that the ministry provided support to Syria Mod Fair held recently in Beirut last week which had achieved distinguished successes by attracting a large number of visitors and signing a number of important contracts.

During the meeting, it was agreed on a constant and daily communication between the ministry and the SFE in order to remove the obstacles that hinder the progress of the export process and exhibitions , and the need to provide the necessary facilities for all economic activities and achieve the maximum desired benefit.
