Oral vaccination campaign launched in Al-Hasakah against Cholera

An oral vaccination campaign against cholera has been launched today in all areas of Al-Hasakah governorate. The campaign which will last for ten days.
Dr. Issa Khalaf, Director of Al-Hasakah Health, stated in a statement that the vaccine will be administered to children from one year of age and above, in the targeted area, “the city of Al-Hasakah, Tell Brak, Al-Hawl and Al-Aresha camps,” through 364 participants in the campaign distributed in 8 centers and 57 mobile teams.
It is scheduled, according to Khalaf, to target 395,423 people in the campaign within the governorate, calling on the people to visit the health centers and cooperate with the mobile teams to receive the vaccine to protect them and prevent them from contracting diseases.
Khalaf explained that the campaign is being implemented in cooperation between the Health Directorate, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), pointing out that the Health Directorate has completed all necessary procedures to reach the targeted group in all regions.
