Operating 50 wells on solar energy in Daraa

The local community in the governorate of Daraa installed a solar energy system to run 50 wells in several cities and towns to pump drinking water in light of the instability of the electric current and shortage of fuel.

The assistant director of the Drinking Water Company in Daraa, Eng. Osama Al-Qadri, stated that the solar energy systems were sponsored by the local community  during the past two months in the cities and towns of Dael, Nahta, Al-Hirak, Al-Ghariya Al-Sharqiya, Al-Ghariya Al-Gharbia, and Al-Karak Al-Sharqi. Ghabab, Azraa, Al-Hara, and Inkhil.

He added that the local community has provided all equipment for operating with solar energy, including solar panels, batteries, cables, and other equipment, under the supervision of the Drinking Water Company in Daraa.

He  explained that this step contributed to pumping water for hundreds of thousands of citizens in these cities and towns.

In a related context, the Drinking Water Company in Daraa workshops rehabilitated four wells at the Kahil station which supplies the city of Busra al-Sham, along with the rehabilitation of a well at the Busra irrigation station.
