With the participation of 70 national companies and five pavilions for the embassies of Iran, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and South Africa, the activities of the fifth session of Aleppo International Fair, organized by Nizam Exhibition Company in cooperation with Aleppo Chamber of Industry, were opened on Wednesday on the grounds of the Sports City in Al-Hamdaniya.
The four-day exhibition includes pavilions for engineering companies’ products, construction supplies, electrical materials, renewable energy, insulation, paints, food and sweets, in addition to the participation of the chambers of agriculture, commerce and industry.
The director of the organizing company, Ali Nizam, noted in a statement to journalists that holding the Aleppo International Fair is a link between the producer, distributor and businessmen to develop the economic, commercial and industrial work in Syria. It reflects the steadfastness of the city of Aleppo and the challenge of the future and the beginning of the recovery of the Syrian economy. He confirmed that Aleppo Governorate, despite all the difficulties it has gone through, is still maintaining production, adding that the participation of a number of friendly foreign embassies is evidence of the interest and activation of trade cooperation with Syria.
Member of the Board of Directors of Aleppo Chamber of Industry, Muhammad Zizan, said that the goal of holding these exhibitions in Aleppo Industrial City is to promote Syrian products and is a basis for holding larger exhibitions in the future, especially with the participation of foreign embassies, which is considered a recovery for the Syrian economy. He referred to the integration of the work of industrialists in Aleppo with the rest of the industrialists in Syria.
Mazen Derkalt, Production Manager, spoke about his company’s presentation of production lines specialized in light foods and packaging machines for spices and seeds, in which production conditions were taken into account by relying on solar energy. He noted that the exhibition is an economic event that reflects the progress of national industrial companies and their challenge to difficult circumstances.
Bassam Al-Faqash, Director of a food production company from Homs Governorate, asserted that he is participating in the exhibition for the first time with food products consumed by families, especially children, and is looking forward to building commercial relations with participating economic activities in Aleppo and expanding points of sale and networking with partners in the Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
The Assistant Director General of the General Company for the Production of Liquid Batteries in Aleppo, Engineer Muhammad Alou, said that after the company was restored due to the damage it sustained due to terrorism, it started producing new types and sizes of batteries and offering them in local markets. A plan was put in place to transform production from manual to semi-automatic while continuing to develop work to produce new varieties and thus achieve competition in the markets in terms of prices and product quality.
Syriatel Media Coordinator Ihab Kazara spoke about the company’s social responsibility to support vital sectors in Syria, including the economic sector, expressing keenness to continue participating in the exhibition to provide communications-related services, special offers, and gifts for visitors.
Ziad Samir, representative of Qitaz Company for the production of ghee, said that he came from Hama Governorate to participate in the exhibition and provide ghee at competitive prices and good quality, relying on local raw materials that satisfy consumers’ tastes.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab and a number of economic figures.
