One of the perpetrators of the Vienna attack was a supporter of (ISIS) terrorist organization, says Austrian minister

Vienna, (ST)  – Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer announced that one of the perpetrators of the attack in the capital Vienna, who was later killed by the police, was a supporter of the ISIS terrorist organization.

In a press conference, Nehammer indicated that the attacker was an extremist and a supporter of ISIS, pointing out that the investigators broke into his apartment after the door was blown up, where he was “heavily armed” with a machine gun and an explosive belt, which turned out to be fake.

Nehammer stated that that “several people” participated in the attack, but without officially confirming this, adding that the investigators are trying to determine the number because exchanging fire took place in different locations.

A terrorist attack in central Vienna on Monday night left six people dead and many others wounded, including a police officer in the center of the Austrian capital, government officials said.
