On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of Balfour Declaration, a political festival in Jaramana

On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, the Syrian Arab People’s Committee to Support the Palestinian People and Resist the Zionist Project, in cooperation with Jerusalem International Foundation- Syria and the Palestinian Forces Alliance, organized on Saturday a political festival in Jaramana camp in Damascus countryside.

The official of the Palestine Liberation Front in Syria, Yassin Maatouk, gave a historical presentation on the Palestinian issue during the festival, stressing that the bet on losing the axis of resistance is a failed bet because resistance is the only way to liberate the land and restore rights to its owners.

For his part, the Yemeni ambassador in Damascus Nayef Al-Qanis called for the political unity   of the Palestinian people to confront the Zionist occupation and liberate the land, stressing that the Yemeni people stand with the Palestinian people in resisting Zionism and global imperialism.

The Director General of Al-Quds International Foundation – Syria, Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah underlined the necessity of focusing on the strengths of the Arab countries occupied by the Zionist  entity in order to confront it and liberate these lands. Dr Khalaf highlighted the need to organize conferences, symposiums and events on the Arab and international levels to demand the lifting of injustice and occupation repression resulting from the Balfour Declaration, which contributed to planting the Zionist occupation entity in the Palestine.

The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Organization of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Dr. Muhammad Qais noted that despite the passage of 103 years after the Balfour Declaration, the Palestinian people’s attachment to their land and their adherence to their rights has not weakened, and that resistance will remain alive until the liberation of all Palestinian soil. Dr. Qais called for a firm stand against all projects aimed at annihilating the Palestinian cause.

During the festival, musical pieces on Syrian and Palestinian patriotic songs were played.

The festival was attended by a number of leaders and representatives of the Palestinian groups and the Syrian and Palestinian national parties, the Chargé d’Affairs at the Iranian embassy in Damascus, and social, religious and cultural personalities.
