On the occasion of Syrian Book Day: Various Titles at  Damascus and Suwayda exhibitions

Damascus-Suwayda-(ST)- To celebrate Syrian Book Day, the Faculty of Law at Damascus University opened the Syrian Book Month Exhibition.

The exhibition, which was held by the Syrian Book Authority at the Ministry of Culture, included about 1,600 titles in various types of literature, culture, knowledge, politics and economics, in addition to translated books and special books for children.

The Director of Exhibitions and Marketing at the Syrian General Book Authority, Amani Al-Qawadri, explained that the Syrian Book Exhibition   is the result of many years of cultural and literary effort in front of the recipients.

Al-Qawadri also noted that there is a 50% discount from the 2020 to 2024 editions, in addition to the fact that the books are available electronically on the authority’s website, where any visitor to the site can download them for free.

It is noteworthy that the exhibition continues until the 30th of this month.

Also in As-Suwayda, the Syrian Book Month Exhibition was opened on Sunday in the city’s Cultural Center. The exhibition, which continues until the twelfth of next month, includes about 7,000 diverse titles in the literary, scientific, historical, philosophical aspects, humanities, children’s publications, and studies.

The Director of Culture in Suwayda, Laila Abu Fakhr, pointed out the importance of these exhibitions in facilitating obtaining the publications of the Ministry of Culture and the publications of the Syrian General Book Authority at the lowest possible price, in a step that would strengthen home libraries and encourage the entry of books into every home so that we can be a reading and protected society.

The exhibition offers a 50 percent discount on books issued from the year 2020 and above, while publications from 2019 and before remain without a discount, with the exception of magazines that remain at cover price.
